MOU with BPPA

APPNE has made affiliation with the British Pakistani Psychiatric Association which is one of the oldest Pakistani Doctors association in the UK.

The MOU signed by Mr Irfan Akhter ( APPNE President ) & Dr Shahid Latif ( BPPA President ) along with office bearers ( Dr Rais Irfan, Genersl Secretary BPPA & Mr Shabi Ahmed ( General Secretary APPNE ). The High Sheriff of Leicestershire Mehmooda Duke MBE DL also attended. By collaboration, both the associations will work side by side in promoting education, support the fraternity and help with the career progression of International Medical Graduates. It will also widen the platform of Pakistani doctors.

MOU with Indus Health Network

The APPNE team met the Indus Health Network (IHN) team led by Dr Abdul Bari Khan, CEO of Indus Heal Network (IHN), Dr Mateen Durrani (Trustee IHN) and other representatives on 10th March 2019.

Dr Amir Burney, Mr Irfan Akhtar, Dr Hisham Haq, Mr Mehboob Mirza and Naseem Warraich represented APPNE.

Under Dr. Abdul Bari Khan’s dynamic leadership, the Indus Hospital has treated more than 2.3 million patients since its inception in 2007. It has now grown into a healthcare network with hospitals located in cities all across Pakistan. They currently operate 15 hospitals across Pakistan with 60 primary care facilities.

Both organisations are keen about the potential of collaborative work between APPNE and Indus Health Network across Pakistan. Dr Bari has recently been awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz for his services to health care and was duly congratulated by the APPNE team. Prof Bari agreed in principle on all the recommendations laid down by the APPNE team APPNE has proposed helping with setting up web training, medical education, teaching courses and partner in Primary Healthcare projects. IHN has accepted recommendation from APPNE to work collaboratively to help improve the healthcare structures in Pakistan.
